Epona was a pittie who should have been broken by the world—but wasn't.
She came from abuse, from cruelty meant to erase trust and softness. What survived instead was gentleness. Patience. A steady, quiet goodness that didn't demand attention, but offered it unconditionally. She showed me, every day, that resilience doesn't always look fierce. Sometimes it looks calm. Sometimes it looks kind.
I have hundreds of photos from her all-too-short time in my life. Hundreds of pictures, hundreds of stories, thousands of moments forever etched in my memory. Moments like watching her give comfort to my elderly, terminally ill mother. Moments like her making it very clear that the new human who joined us was destined to be my forever love.
Loving, funny, clumsy, graceful, attentive—and completely absorbed in her own little world while ignoring everything else—Epona was, and continues to be, a primary inspiration for my art, my baking, and the way I live.
Epona's Treats and Treasures exists for the dogs who were overlooked, the ones who needed time, and the people who understand that love is built slowly and earned honestly. Everything I make—whether it's food, art, or something in between—is rooted in care, simplicity, and respect for the animals who give us far more than we ever deserve.
Epona is gone now, but she is still teaching.
This is how her story continues.
